In 2017, our team discovered the potential for converting warm water into electricity during a visit to Iceland. Seeing the massive potential for geothermal applications, we founded Baseload Capital to fund geothermal projects worldwide. We then established Baseload Power to develop and operate these projects.

Today, we have power companies operating in Japan, Taiwan, the U.S., and Iceland, working towards our vision of a planet in balance. We are a team of six in the US, and close to 50 colleagues worldwide.

Roll Up Your Sleeves and Lead the Finance Transformation at Baseload

As the Director of Finance at Baseload ensure that we don’t just keep up with change but drive it. Act as the catalyst for our success, embodying the values that make Baseload a resilient, innovative, and pioneering force in the renewable energy industry. You will have regular contact with the finance teams across our locations, with extra emphasis on the Swedish team (HQ).   

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Be accountable for Baseload Power US payroll, bookkeeping, accounting, and monthly / quarterly/annual closing – supported by Baseload’s Local Accounting partner in US. (Short and mid-term, we do not have inhouse bookkeeping and accounting at Baseload)
• Lead and develop Baseload Power US financial controlling, reporting as well as business planning, budgeting & forecasting
• Oversee finance department operations and perform financial management duties, including cash management, valutation, reporting, analysis, and compliance.
• Graduate degree in Finance or Accounting; relevant certifications.
• Extensive experience in finance, ideally in the energy sector.
• Proven track record managing complex financial structures with multiple subsidiaries and intercompany agreements.
• Experience with joint ventures and/or transitioning from start-up to scale-up.
